It's impossible to fully express the feeling of being told your child has cancer. Teddy was just 9 months old when he was diagnosed with high-risk AML leukemia. He was rushed by ambulance to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, where he remained for six months. During that time, he endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy and eventually underwent a bone marrow transplant.

Recovery after a transplant is incredibly long and deeply isolating. Teddy was unable to be around others for a long time because the risk to his health was just too great. That period was one of the loneliest times of our lives. No longer surrounded by constant medical support, but still dealing with daily medications, frequent check-ups, hospital visits, and an overwhelming number of worries.

When we came across Children with Cancer Fund, it was a breath of fresh air to find a charity so close to home that could actually offer support. Many cancer charities don’t support children under three, so being able to connect with Chris and Ursula meant the world to us. Their compassion and continued support have been truly invaluable.

Because of Teddy’s ongoing health challenges, the isolation we’ve experienced, and the ever-present risk of relapse, our focus has shifted entirely to making memories, reclaiming lost time and learning how to embrace life again. Children with Cancer Fund helped make one of those special memories possible by granting our wish to stay at the Tiger Lodge in Port Lympne. For our animal-loving little boy, it was nothing short of magical.

Thank you to the entire team for your dedication and for standing by families like ours through such unimaginable times. We are beyond grateful...words will never be enough.
