We swapped hospital corridors for hidden clues, secret codes, and plenty of excitement as a wonderful group of families we support joined us for a special day out at Pier Pressure Escape Rooms.
The goal? A few hours where childhood could take centre stage again and where families could simply have fun together.
Living with childhood cancer often means navigating a world of appointments, treatments, and uncertainty. Days like this one give families a chance to pause, breathe, and connect.
From the moment everyone arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing. Children teamed up with parents, siblings, and volunteers to tackle themed rooms filled with puzzles and challenges. From start to finish, the rooms echoed with laughter, teamwork, and a healthy dose of competitive spirit.
One of the best parts of the day wasn’t just watching teams “escape”—it was seeing the way families cheered for each other, offered hints, and celebrated every success.
For many of our families, cancer journeys can feel isolating. Days like this help build new friendships and remind everyone that they are part of a community that understands and supports them.
After a morning of solving clues and celebrating escapes, the group headed over to Donatello for a relaxed and delicious lunch.
It was a lovely moment to unwind, chat, and share stories from the escape rooms. The children compared their favourite puzzles and parents enjoyed the chance to connect with others who understand their journeys.
We are incredibly grateful to Pier Pressure and Donatello for generously hosting us and creating such an unforgettable experience. The staff went above and beyond to make every family feel welcome.
Thank you also to our fabulous sponsors of this event, John Jackson Charitable Trust. It is thanks to their generosity that this event was able to take place.
Events like these are possible thanks to supporters who believe in the power of moments—moments of joy, escape, and connection. We’re already planning our next family adventure and can’t wait to create more memories together.
If you’d like to support future outings, consider making a donation today. Any amount, big or small, is massively appreciated.
