This weekend, laughter and cheers echoed through the treetops at Bedgebury as a group of brave young people and their families joined us for an unforgettable day out at Go Ape. For children facing cancer, and for the parents and siblings walking the journey beside them, time away from hospitals, appointments, and daily pressures is more than just a break. It’s a breath of fresh air and a chance to feel free.
Climbing and Cheering
The anticipation was palpable as everyone waited for their harnesses to be fitted, all eager to get the go ahead to begin on their adventure. Some children scrambled up the first ladders with fearless energy. Others took a deep breath and stepped forward slowly - but with incredible courage.
Every zip line brought another round of cheers. Every wobbly bridge became a team effort. And every platform turned into a little victory point where families paused, smiled, and celebrated what they’d just accomplished.
More Than Just an Adventure
For many families undergoing cancer treatment, life can feel heavy and unpredictable. Treatment schedules, long nights, and ongoing worry often leave little room for carefree joy. That’s why days like this matter so much.
Thank You
To the incredible team at Go Ape - thank you for welcoming our families so warmly and helping create such an empowering day.
Thanks also go to Tesco for kindly sponsoring this event – without their kind support, this amazing experience would not have been possible.
And to every child, parent, brother, and sister who joined us: your strength inspires us daily. Seeing you climb, swing, and smile reminded us all why our charity matters so deeply.
