At the beginning of June we took a group of over 120 of our children and families for a fantastic day out at the brilliant Knockhatch Adventure Park.
Despite the prediction of bad weather, the rain stayed away, and we all had the most amazing day filled with fun and laughter.
On arrival, our families were all given a drink and ice cream voucher each to spend at their leisure throughout the day. They were also given farm food to feed the lovely animals as they walked around. There were lambs, goats, sheep, llamas and even emus all waiting to be fed and the children were only too happy to oblige.
Delicious Lunch
We all came together for a lovely BBQ lunch together in a private picnic area where we could sit, relax and talk together. Knockhatch provided a lovely spread with lots of delicious extras.
We all witnessed a cheque presentation from the John Whippy Foundation of £1,052 which was just a lovely moment! Our families appreciated the chance to meet some representatives from the John Whippy Foundation and to thank them for the donation.
Afternoon Adventuring
In the afternoon our families continued exploring the park at their leisure. It was lovely to see that lots of our children and families chose to remain together in groups, playing and spending time together. This is testament to the firm friendships that have been built through being part of Children with Cancer Fund and taking part in our many events.
The new WaveRunner2 was a bit hit with children and adults alike as they sped down the slides, beaming with excitement!
To top off a simply amazing day, we bought each child a small gift from the shop on the way out of the park. We were so happy to put extra smiles on the faces of our children, and it was just the best way to end an incredible event!
Thank You
Thank you to Knockhatch Adventure Park and all their staff for being so welcoming and helping us make the day as wonderful as it could be.
A huge thank you goes to BBC Children in Need for sponsoring the event and allowing us to give our families the most magical day.
